Demeter
Illustration
An illustration inspired by my primary school obsession with Greek Mythology. Demeter rules over agriculture and the harvest, the sacred laws, fertility and menstruation, and is the mother of Persephone. Her constellation is Virgo. When Hades abducted Persephone and trapped her in the underworld, Demeter's grief halted the seasons, a myth that explains the lack of agricultural growth in the autumn and winter months, or in some versions, the dry drought months. She is the symbol of motherhood and growth, and the cycle of life and death, and as far as Greek gods go, isn't as busy being the Absolute Worst for no good reason.
