No freelance illustrator can escape the people's need for portraits of their own pets and the pets of friends and family. Thank goodness for that, otherwise I would be eating more rice and beans than a low FODMAP diet could handle. Financially and artistically satisfying, the classic pet portrait is a commission I always love to receive.
